With these chilling facts, there is very good reason to get in shape not only for yourself, but as a good employee. You owe it to yourself and your company to do so.

Normal weight people handle stress better than their overweight peers. Being fit and in shape, it helps them cope with stress a lot better than someone who is not. Normal weight employees also tend to make more money as well since they are able to complete tasks faster and more efficiently.

Who doesn't want more of that?

All these issues stemming from obesity are easily treatable by removing the underlying factors. We have to deal with these issues at their core. There is a huge opportunity to change the poor health outcomes for a big portion of working America, but dealing with the root of the problem (preventing obesity in the first place) is a lot more important than treating the problem. It's better to take care of the issue at its source rather than wait until things get out of control.
