With the holidays here, it's time to get together and celebrate. Unfortunately, usually means over indulging into foods that you may regret later on. The workplace may have holiday parties and potlucks where people bring tons of foods to be table and eat. Good thing there are some things you can do to prevent your holiday weight gain at those holiday events. Here are some tips for you to avoid office weight gain during the holidays: 1. Pace Yourself at the Parties Simple get a small plate and sample all the delicious foods available and take small portions. Eat some food then talk to your co-workers for a bit and let your food digest before grabbing more. Let your food process so your brain can tell you that you are getting full. 2. Keep Walking Around Keep walking around, talk to people you normally do not have a chance to talk to, maybe help set some things on the table. If you sit idle close to the food the entire time, you may end up eating the entire time. Be social, talk to people, and get some conversations going. 3. Dance At these holiday events, there are opportunities to go dancing. Bust a move, groove to the music, wiggle to the beat and encourage your friends to as well. ' 4. Drink Water The are plenty of sodas and unhealthy drinks at these things. Drink some water while you are at it to quench your thirst 5. Bring a Healthy Dish If it is a potluck bring something like a chicken salad or look for foods similar to that in health value. Avoid things like donuts, pastries, and other sugary high calorie dishes that may be available. 6. Self Control It's important to learn some self-restraint, to put the brakes on things and tell yourself you have had enough. You will only pay for it later down the line when the new year rolls around and you try hard to work the holiday weight off. 7 Enjoy your time It is a time to enjoy yourself cut loose a little bit, but also be cautious and watch yourself to not over indulge either.
